Lovely room, clean and well stocked with tea/coffee facilities and fresh milk. Thomas was delightful and served a delicious hot breakfast in the morning. Just wished we had asked for some toast too.

Failte sits on the road at the top of a steep hill, so be prepared for a short climb but worth it.

Oban ist ein hübsches Küstenstädtchen mit Fährverbindungen zu mehreren schönen Inseln. Tipp: Auch wenn man zu Fuss unterwegs ist, sollte man die Fähre im Voraus buchen.

house and room were really beautiful, breakfast was very tasty. The landlord is a very good cook, so kind and friendly that made the stay unforgettable.

We suggest to a boat tuor of the isles around obam ( Mull, staffa and Iona). It is highly recommended for those who loves nature, landscapes, small Village and local history.

Beautiful guest house, lovely room and comfy beds. Room and bathroom are a great size with plenty of room.

We did a lot of walking, climbed up to McCaigs tower. Ate at EE Usk, a fish restaurant right at the harbour and it was excellent.

For us, Failte is the perfect place to stay. Thomas made us welcome (again!). The house is almost magical displaying the most striking artwork by family members. I was riveted! Our room was lovely, had everything we needed and a big choice of reading material just outside the door! A great choice of fresh fruit, cereals, continental breakfast plus the full Scottish beautifully presented. A mini fridge with fresh milk. All the little things. Back soon!

Parking downtown requires patience - a bit of hanging about watching for others leaving. At £1 an hour, we thought it must contribute to the town's budget, so well worth it. Quick lunches available along the main streets and the pier area. Lots of shops and crafts. Boat trips are popular. We take the coastal road down to Kilmartin Museum including a walk out to Dunadd sustained by a cracking lunch at the Museum cafe! Check the times for these ..... Oh! and much, much more!

We had the most incredible stay at Failte B&B - we would return in a heartbeat! The rooms were beautiful, incredibly comfortable, thoughtfully furnished, spotlessly clean, and immediately felt like being at home. Thomas’s tip to take the guided tour at Dunollie Castle was a great one - the guided tour was one of the highlights of our visit to Oban! The castle and family had fascinating history and passionate staff (plus a lovely cafe on-site for lunch).

Very hearty welcome by Thomas, the landlord of this lovely house. Great breakfast, individual wishes are welcome. We had a very good sleep, no street noise and wonderful beds.

Close to the city with wonderful restaurants and pubs, only a 10 minutes walk. We recommend the Fishouse Restaurant (outstanding local mussels) - reservation is a must.

A great location above the harbor with a short walk to McCaig’s tower and all the attractions of the waterfront. It is uphill from the harbor, so be prepared for a steep, but doable climb. Failte is tidy, quiet & relaxing with a certain quaint charm. We were met with very friendly service, great breakfasts and all the amenities one might need. We would highly recommend a stay if you are in the area.

We had wonderful meals at Piazza on the pier and Cuan Mor, and enjoyed shopping and a tour of the Oban Distillery. One highlight was our 2 hour trip with Oban Sea Tours, to see local sea life and castles from the water, but trips to the many islands nearby are also available from the local ferry terminal.

We had a great stay at Failte B&B. Thomas was a great host, with excellent suggestions on sightseeing, restaurants to try, and so on. The B&B is situated above Oban, within easy walking distance of the town, and offers excellent views of the area, and a very calming experience after long days. Breakfast was excellent. You can’t go wrong staying here.

Make sure you go see McCaigs Tower. It is a 5 minute walk from Failte, and the views are outstanding!

Very classy place. Thomas is the epitome of a gracious host. Our room was tidy to perfection, well appointed with a lovely comforter and though small, the space was designed well allowing us a place to put everything. Bath amenities added a nice touch, lovely fluffy towels and all very clean. Breakfasts were excellent offering a variety of wonderful food choices. We would love to stay with Thomas again!

Take the early ferry to Mull to improve your chances of getting to Iona. Be sure to eat some very fresh fish, lobster or mussels at the dockside outdoor cafe. In general this is the place to eat fresh fish!!

If you travel by foot with luggage then note that it is a very steep walk up to the house. The reward is a wide view over the Oban rooftops.

We had a very nice dinner at the Waterfront Fishouse.

We are situated on Oban Hill and it is just a ten minute walk from the town centre. As we are part of the Highlands, the towncentre is surrounded by hills. If you have heavy or big luggage we recommend to take a taxi. Thank you for your review and for staying with us.

My room was quite cozy with a lovely wee bed in which I slept quite well. The breakfast was delightful and hosts most pleasant.

Great bookstore in town and the fancy restaurant EE-USK, while really, really, good was very expensive. But I did have a lovely harbor view, so you can consider that. Food was excellent. I found Jacob's Ladder, while being more extreme, an easier walk to and from town than the road. Highly recommend David's taxi.44 7578 704700

Welcoming, clean and comfortable - we had a good night's stay. The only very slight criticism is that the water for our showers was luke warm at best - hotter water would have been nice.

We would confirm our host's recommendation for Cuan Mor restaurant- we enjoyed an excellent meal there.

Thomas is a gracious host. Our room was clean and comfortable. Complimentary tea, coffee, cookies and fresh milk were a lovely treat. Breakfast was delicious.

The West Coast Tour offers a three island tour which is amazing. You can travel to Mull, Iona and Staffa. McCaig’s Tower is just a short walk away with stunning views of Oban. We were able to park our car right out front on the street. If you like fish, we recommend The Fish Market.

This was a lovely and quaint stay in Oban, a perfect seaside retreat. The home was immaculate, and breakfast delicious. You can tell they take great pride in their space, it was decorated beautifully and we had everything we needed for our brief stay. Would recommend and stay many times over - they even had a floor on the main room if stairs were an issue.

The distillery tour is a must do, as well as walks around the seafront.

I have enjoyed first class hospitality at Failte for many years now. Thomas and Isabel provide an impeccably thoughtful and welcoming environment. Breakfast options cater for every imaginable taste. Highly recommended.

The nearby islands of the Inner Hebrides are delightful. Kerrera, Lismore, and West Mull are all within a ferry trip of under an hour duration.

Please make sure you visit all parts of Oban before you leave the town and why not taking an hour to walk through all the steep roads and see the view of the town from different angles? ;-)

The View restaurant and Bar in Oban has a lovely Restaurant and bar with as the name suggests a Beautiful view across the harbour through big glass windows on an upstairs balcony. The food was Delicious

We arrived on our bikes and had a very warm welcome from Thomas. He showed us to the lockable bike shed and then to our room. He then brought us tea and shortbread, a really lovely gesture after a king day cycling. The room and bathroom were very comfortable and had everything we needed. Breakfast was superb, a good choice of cereals, homemade yogurt (delicious), very nice bread and a freshly prepared cooked breakfast. Scrambled eggs and smoked salmon set us on our way for another day in the saddle. Thank you for a lovely stay. The B&B is at the top of Oban so that was the only train I marked it down one point because I was done with hills on the bike but I would definitely recommend to anyone and would stay there again if I was in Oban. Thank you

McCaibs tower is not far from the B&B and definitely worth a visit with amazing views over Oban.. We are at Piazza on the waterfront, where we had a delicious meal..

As I've said in person to the proprietors, this may be the most lovely, efficient, and pleasant Bed and Breakfast I've ever stayed in. I especially loved the ambiance created by the art all over the hotel and also the caring sensitivity of Thomas and Isabel.

Just be prepared to walk the hill...it is lovely and for was a bit of a workout. But I was warned and appreciated that.

From the moment I booked I had excellent customer services felt welcome before I arrived. When I arrived received such a warm welcome got shown to my beautiful room, although I had a welcome tray in room was asked if I wanted a pot of tea with shortbread that came to the room that was such a lovely touch. The room itself was clean & lovely it had a window seat which I loved. The following morning the breakfast selection & quality of food was amazing I would say the best I have seen for a guest house. It did feel like a home from home and that’s what you want it to feel like. Thank you so much for delivering this, you really do it with such kindness will definitely be returning on my next visit to Oban. Thank you 😊

Failte is a hidden gem in Oban! And Thomas is a very gracious host. Upon arrival, he provided tea and shortbreads, and even brought fresh milk to our room for our in-room coffee and tea. The bed and the pillows were very nice and the bathroom facilities were clean and bright. Failte is located up a long hill, but within easy walking distance to all the attractions that Oban has to offer. We certainly recommend a stay at Failte.

A minor quibble: If you’re coming from the USA, be sure to bring an adapter with multiple outlets, as this historic property has only one or two electrical outlets in each room for phone charging, etc. (We’ve found this to be true for many historic B&Bs in the UK.)
