29th July 2024:
Had the most perfect couple of days and loved every minute! The cabin is perfect - comfortable, petite but everything has a place and the scenery is to die for. Can’t wait to go back!
Tips:Services are scarce around the cabin - the nearby shop was only open one out of 3 times we tried so bring plenty things you’d like as can’t rely on shop being open! Also be wary there is only one non-usb charger in the whole cabin. Lastly, no coffee machine/sachets or anything so bring your own caffeine!
Would Recommend: Yes
Owner Response:Thank you Anne Marie. Do glad you had a lovely time.

24th July 2024:
Beautiful views from the large windows whilst lying in bed. The cabin was very warm so we didn’t use the stove. It was a good area to check out local walks, visit Oban and our dogs had a great time. The small balcony was lovely to sit out on in the nicer weather and admire the views. We ate dinner one evening at the Brucharn inn, which was tasty, the rest of the time we cooked.
Tips:There is only a two ring stove, no toaster, no oven, so bring food to cook based around that. Especially breakfast. Tralee beach was lovely to walk along with the dogs. Oban is great for food and coffees.

9th July 2024:
I highly recommend these cabins! The Osprey’s Lookout was a lovely little place, simply decorated with clean, modern lines and gorgeous, warm wood paneling. It is very “green,” efficient, and comfortable. There was a cold spell while I visited but the cabin is so heat efficient that I never needed the wood stove. Beautiful views inside and out. I loved the neighboring chickens which were politely quiet at night! :-) Tracey was a kind and responsive host. Also, thank you for recommending Ben Cruachan’s restaurant down below. The food and service were wonderful. Davey was especially a delight. Thank you again!
Tips:Book it!

8th June 2024:
We had a lovely stay, the cabin was gorgeous and made our time in the Highlands extra special. It was very warm, clean and spacious, a great base while we travelled around, including visiting Loch Lomond, the Glenfinnan Viaduct, and doing local walks.
Tips:The Ben Cruachan Inn was a lovely spot for dinner. Only tip for the inside of the cabins would be to light a small fire to begin with as it warms up quickly and stays very warm. Was nice and cosy for us, but could have become too hot if we weren't careful.

10th May 2024:
The cabin was beautifully designed and very comfortable in a fantastic location. We were travelling by train and wanted to do some hillwalking so Lochawe was a great spot for us. The only things we missed having in the cabin was a toaster and a hairdryer!
Tips:The cabin is beautifully designed and very comfortable in a fantastic location with easy access by train. Would highly recommend.

Owner Response:Thanks Kate ans so glad you had a lovely time. Sorry we vould not supply a toaster or hairdryer but because the cabins are solar powered wd are a wee bit limited with power usage. Hope to see you again. Tracey

Beautiful location with so many great walks, lochs near by for you and your dog to enjoy! The cabin itself is stunning and was absolutely spotless and so cosy! Cabin was also very well equipped. We really enjoyed our stay here.
Tips:Be organised with meals if planning to eat meals in the cabin as no microwave or oven (this was stated when booking so didn’t come as a surprise). The fridge is also pretty small so we brought a cool box to store cans of juice / alcohol to save space in fridge. There is a restaurant less than 1 min away and if eating out. Also a handy little convenience store less than 5 min walk away too. Lastly pack waterproofs & wellies / walking shoes

8th June 2023:
There may be a wasps nest developing in the exterior wall of the cabin. Only real suggestion would be to have tea bags in with the coffee. Otherwise we had a fantastic stay.
Tips:Fantastic location with the train station nearby to take you to Oban or an array of places for a walk. Staff in the adjoining inn were fantastic as was the restaurant. Very comfortable lodgings with the only downside being the lack of sun in the evening but not much can be done about that. I would definitely recommend staying here if you are looking for a romantic getaway.

Owner Response:Thanks for your nice review. We have dealt with the wasps nest. Hope to see you again Tracey

5th June 2023:
Really great location on Loch Awe but given full window blinds difficult to have any privacy to look at the view - would be good to have the option to have the bottom half of the window blinds shut and top lart open. Handy storage options. Some hand soap was expected however having read the airbnb reviews we brought our own thankfully. Also very very hot when sunny - perhaps a fan or bedsheet for the summer would be good!
Tips:Ben Cruachan inn is just next door and good for a meal - pots and pans provided however only 2 gas hob therefore difficult to cook much of a meal. Cleaning facilities and shampoo provided but make sure you bring some hand soap with you! The view is stunning however the lodge is very insulated and incredibly hot during the rare sunny days - make sure you leave the blinds down during the day and bring a thin bedsheet!

Owner Response:Thank you for your review and apologies there should have been soap provided.

30th September 2022:
The chalet itself was a gem. Clean, cosy and very well laid out considering its size. Plenty of USB sockets to suit all needs. The boiler coped very well supplying the shower and the sinks. The only things we missed were perhaps a microwave oven and a toaster but possibly power constraints and even space make providing these impossible. The bed was superbly comfortable. Didn't try the woodburner stove. Would have been too warm so good is the insulation. Any of the staff we met were friendly and most helpful for advice. All in all a superb place to stay.
Tips:The Ben Cruachan Inn is a great improvement over those who remember the old Tight Lines pub for food and beer. The village shop is well stocked and friendly. St Conan's Kirk is a must as is Kilchurn Castle perhaps Scotland's most photographed castle even outdoing Eilean Donan.

Thank you for a lovely stay. Although the cabin is compact, it is really comfortable and the large windows give a real sense of space, not to mention incredible views. The food and service at the adjacent Ben Cruachan Inn was fantastic. I'm sure we'll be back!

Owner Response:Many thanks for your lovely review and we hope to see you again soon.

16th August 2022:
Great cabin - well designed and thought out use of space. Super comfy bed and great views. Lovely shower. Compact kitchen but we expected that. Super minor thing - could’ve benefitted from a sponge/scourer to assist with kitchen surfaces cleaning and maybe an extra tea towel although luckily was warm enough to dry the one we had. Couldn’t ignite stove with built in lighter so had to use matches which felt a little precarious - a fire lighter igniter clicker pen (I don’t know what they’re called!) would have been appreciated.
Tips:The Inn is brilliant - fantastic food and whiskies. Hike up the the reservoir was quite spectacular. A day trip to Mull and Calgary bay in spectacular weather. Even spotted dolphins! Inverary and the rest and be thankful with a brilliant haggis sandwich at the catering van was amazing on our journey back.

29th March 2022:
Had a lovely two night stay in the cabins. The cabin is beautiful! We were lucky enough to have a little heatwave so we didn't need the fire on, it was very warm, modern and well made. Shower is amazing, it has a smart tv so netflix etc are built in. Beautiful views from the bed and the decking. I didn't expect to be so close to the road but it was so handy being so close to the Inn, amazing food, drinks and staff. Really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend.

The cabin was an absolute dream! Modern, scandi interior with stunning views over Loch Awe. Everywhere was spotless, the bed was really comfortable and the log burner is guaranteed to keep you cosy. We’ve already recommended the cabins to several friends and will definitely be looking to return in the future! Thank you :-)
Tips:If you’re staying over the weekend and would like dinner in the adjacent inn, make sure you book!
